They learned about science and what it could look like as a profession as well as learning from her life lessons of self-advocacy, boldness, and being brave to achieve the goals of your heart. "The content level was much higher than I expected. But seeing the classifiers is very useful and I think I can integrate it into my interpretation of lower level sciences. I think it would be better to have 2 tracks: one more basic and one like today. Also I wish I knew the specific topics in advance. Kayla was engaging and her excitement for science is contagious. I liked the activity plus the opportunity for people to practice interpreting."

"Overall the presenter was excellent! it was too fast paced for me. i have a pretty good grasp of basic science concepts but having more time to explore each topic and then to incorporate it into the next would have been more beneficial for me. and, it's so great to have an african american presenter on a topic like this! we usually only get african american history or black ASL. but there's so much more to what black deaf people can do and have to offer. this was great! but i really could have done without the revival-esque christian theology."
